Rose Bead Keepsakes
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many roses do I need to make a rosary?
Generally four or five beads can be made from an average
size rose.  A rosary contains fifty- three rose beads, so it will
take approximately 12 to 18 roses for a rosary, and perhaps
two or three roses for a bracelet and earrings.  If you do not
have enough rose petals, we will happily add some of ours.

How long does it take?
The process of making rose petals into beads takes
approximately two weeks.  Most orders are completed and
delivered within four to six weeks.

Do the roses have to be fresh?
No.  If you have fresh roses enjoy them until they are wilted.
Only the petals are used to make the beads so they can be
wilted or even dried.  If the petals have started to break
down and mold at the base they are not able to be used.
The best way to prevent this is to make certain there is air
circulation around the roses.

How do I send the rose petals to you?
Take the petals from the roses and put them in a paper
envelope or bag and mail them directly to me with your order
and payment.  Try to avoid using a plastic bag, especially
with fresh petals because plastic encourages mold.  If you
are not going to mail the petals immediately, store the petals
in a basket in an open space that promotes air circulation.
You can then mail them at your convenience.

How long will they last?
I have seen rose bead rosaries that are more than forty
years old and they looked wonderful.  After so many years
and so much use they become very smooth and take on a
very pretty sheen.  These pieces are meant to be keepsake
pieces to be passed down from generation to generation.

How do I care for my rosary or jewelry?
All sterling silver will tarnish over time. To keep it bright just
polish with a soft cloth.  Rose beads should always stay dry
so avoid contact with water or liquids for any length of time.
They can also be crushed if dropped and stepped on.
Please treat them as the unique treasure they are.
